Photography is a journey, much like life; it's rarely linear. My journey began after high school when I took a bicycle tour of Europe with the American Youth Hostel group and borrowed my mother's Zeiss Ikon camera. Over the next two summers, I continued to bike through Europe, taking numerous photographs. After college, I joined the military, and after 30 fulfilling years, I retired. 

In 2010, I experienced a life-changing injury while working as a private security contractor overseas. This injury forced me to reevaluate my life and priorities, ultimately slowing me down. During this time, it felt natural to explore my passion for photography. After a lengthy recovery, I purchased my first digital camera, a Sony NEX-5. I didn't know how to use it, but it ignited my enthusiasm for photography. 

In 2023, as we planned another trip to Europe, I invested in an Olympus OM-5. As I often say, "If it's worth doing, it's worth overdoing."

I am now starting my fifth year as an aspiring photographer. I've found peace in the grandeur of the outdoors, the tranquility of the mountains, and the ethereal beauty of breathtaking landscapes. These serene scenes have consistently brought me peace of mind. At this stage in my journey, I focus on nature, landscapes, astrophotography, and nature's abstract features. 

I hope to share these moments with you through my photography, allowing you to discover our planet's joy and tranquility.
